The Money Smart Club

Purpose:

The HRHA Money Smart Youth Club aims to provide an opportunity for families to start talking about money management to their children to help youth build financial skills and acquire good habits through learning and practice. This program will run through March-August with monthly prizes. To Enroll your child, please complete the enrollment form at the end of the page, and read the participation requirements according to their age groups (listed below). Who Can Join?

Anyone under 18 in a family that participates in the Family Self-Sufficiency program. We strongly encourage the participation and involvement of parents in assisting with continued support throughout the program duration.

How to Participate:

For those who are 13-18:

The HRHA FSS Program has joined the National FDIC Money Smart Alliance and will use its curriculum for the FSS participants over 13.

You must open up your account and link it to the HRHA account. – Please follow the instructions below. This will keep track of your progress completion.

Two games per month and answering one financial literacy question are required to be entered in a monthly raffle for a $20 gift card and will be counted as 1st,2nd, and 3rd program participation.

The answers to the question(s) are submitted to us through email during the first week of every month.

 

**Account Creation for those 13-18 years of age only**

Open an account and Link it to our account.

o   Complete the requested info. {Email, Password, First and Last Name, }

o   Check – Through an Organization –  Enter the Organization Display name – HRHA –

o   Click on CREATE ACCOUNT

o A new page will pop up: MONITORING STATEMENT. Check. I have read and acknowledged both the Monitoring Statements.  SUBMIT.

For those who are 7-13:

Two age-adapted money management videos will be shared and expected to be watched with the parent. There will be one financial literacy question that needs to be answered. Parents can assist with writing responses, but it needs to be in the child’s own words.

This is required to be entered in a monthly raffle for a $20 gift card and will be counted as 1st,2nd, and 3rd program participation.

The answers to the question(s) are submitted to us through email during the first week of every month.

Prizes

At the end of the program, the three winners will be recognized during the HRHA annual Banquet. They will also receive prices ranging from $ 100, $ 75, and $ 50 based on set criteria.

Monthly raffle prize winners will first be confirmed if their participation requirements were met.
