Function: Provide administrative and project leadership in planning, developing, writing, and monitoring of the Western Virginia Continuum of Care grants, administrative plans, policy and procedures manuals and ending homelessness initiatives. Activities include: leading, directing and overseeing the Continuum’s activities, grant coordination and grant operations, ensures homeless services and grant activities meet all federal and state regulations, performs complex analysis of projects, liaison with community partners, and provides project management, program evaluation and reporting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Identify community needs and possible resources, develop community partnerships to create a collective impact on addressing homelessness, and facilitate coalition-building to address homelessness initiatives.

2. Collaboratively develop comprehensive and concise applications for funding, monitor all of the CoC’s grants, and ensure all grant activities meet regulatory requirements.

3. Liaise with Committee Chairs to formulate annual objectives, timelines, and following up on tasks assigned to committee members and the CoC as a whole, and hold committees accountable for formulated goals. This includes working independently and collaboratively to analyze initiatives, develop community support, and create project action steps and work schedules to facilitate implementation.

4. Maintain and expand knowledge of regional and national best practices in ending homelessness through ongoing research, interpret complex federal regulations, state laws, and local ordinances in relationship to homelessness initiatives, and apply and implement this knowledge to CoC management and operational efficiency and effectiveness.

5. Communicate effectively to a broad audience in oral, written, and electronic formats. Analyze, evaluate, and write progress and summary reports, review and revise policies and procedures, and create administrative plans.

6. Create and maintain effective relationships with community stakeholders and other state, federal and local agencies.

7. Work with the CoC’s leadership to develop an annual strategic plan and activities to support the CoC’s goal of ending homelessness

8. Complete any other project as assigned by the Executive Director

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
